Sustainable Harvesting of Mountain Red Deer Velvet
Each year male deer grow antler, this process of annual regeneration is unique to deer. In the wild, the male deer sheds its antlers each year. Mountain Red Deer Velvet is harvested to support this natural event. For farmed deer in New Zealand it is recommended that the deer velvet be removed in order to prevent the stages using them as weapons and damaging themselves and other deer as is common in the wild. The removal process is sustainable given its annual regeneration. The product is humanely harvested under strict quality control methods to ensure animal health and welfare. Mountain Red guarantees that no animal is harmed in the harvesting of its product.
Sustainable Harvesting of Mountain Red Greenlipped Mussel Extract
Once the Greenlipped Mussels have reached maturity they are harvested and processed for Mountain Red adhering to the strict standards required by government licensing conditions for approved aquaculture facilities to ensure a premium quality product.
The mussels are harvested when fully grown by lifting the growing lines and carefully removing the mussels from each individual line. Once the mussels are removed from the growing lines the lines are reseeded for continued harvest. Harvesting is synchronised with factory production to ensure the mussels spend the minimum time possible out of the water. Once the mussels are harvested, they are transferred to the processing plant, the shell is removed, and the extract is freeze dried using low temperatures and vacuum controls to remove the water. This process preserves the integrity of the marine bioactive molecules and ensures the stability and activity of the vast array of nutrients naturally contained within the extract.

Sustainable Harvesting of Mountain Red GrapeExtract + Trans Resveratrol
Mountain Red Grape Extract Ultra + Trans Resveratrol is formulated from the extracts of two iconic New Zealand grape varieties, Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir produced from fruit that is grown in sustainably managed vineyards nestled in the top of the South Island of New Zealand. These two grape varieties have amazingly adapted themselves to the high levels of light and UV radiation that penetrate through New Zealand’s clean, clear skies by producing higher levels of natural bioactives in their skin and seeds. The seeds of Marlborough’s sauvignon blanc grapes have much higher levels of antioxidants than seeds from other grape varieties from around the world. In addition, the use of unfermented pinot noir skins ensures that all the bioactives are retained in the skin and have not leached out during the production process. Made from water extraction alone this makes for a truly unique, sustainable product.
