November 2011 Harvest had begun....

My goodness, it is nearly into December and I am only getting this update out to you now.

We have been so flat tack here on the farm with the harvest of our beautiful velvet. The boys look great, especially those that have had their velvet harvested, such a brighter spring in their step with all that weight off their heads. The velvet is spectacular and a true credit to our wonderful farm managers who have cared for our wonderful boys during the year and those extra helpings that they give them of kiwifruit, NZ apples and grapes. No wonder they grow such amazing velvet for us! Remember for general good health, flexibility and immune support Mountain Red Velvet should be your number one choice! October 2011 Nearly Harvest time....

Wow – here we are in October with the harvest season for our velvet soon about to start. Our boys are looking great and our velvet looks set to be stunning this year. It must be down to all that Kiwifruit that we have given them to eat this year. Looking at our boys and their velvet, there really is no doubt as to the quality of the product that we are able to produce – they are truly outstanding! We have had a number of enquires this month about the quality of the grapes used in our Grape Extract plus Trans Resveratrol that I thought I should share these points with you;

July 2011 Past the shortest day...

Down here in New Zealand we have just passed our shortest day! But with such a balmy, mild winter that we have had.... one of our boys has started to grow his antlers! Yes incredible as it sounds, this mild weather has tricked him into thinking it is Spring!

June 2011 Six months in...

Winter has officially arrived for us down here in the southern hemisphere and with those shorter days it is critical to stay healthy and well to keep up with our busy lives.

May 2011 - The Grapes of Health...

Wow just where this year is going I am not sure but May is upon us now! We are lighting our fires at night down here in New Zealand but our days are still lovely and sunny most of the time.

December 2010 - Tis the Season...

Tis the Season to be feeling well! And what better gift to be giving this Festive Season than the gift of good health. November 2010 - Harvest Time

As the weather is finally warming up here in New Zealand and we can put thoughts of winter behind us, we are preparing for the first velvet harvest of 2010. Again this year's velvet is looking stunning and a tribute to our farm managers and this unique land in which we are privileged to farm. Look out for new pictures on our face book page!

Whilst we are preparing for summer, those of you in the Northern Hemisphere will no doubt have your thoughts towards the forthcoming holiday season and of course the onset of winter. Welcome or Welcome back to the Mountain Red Website October 2010

The first 'buttons' have fallen – our velvet is starting to grow!

Each year the male stag naturally casts his antlers ready for the next season's growth. The small horn or 'button' that is left on his head after the harvest is cast off and we find these 'button' looking pieces of antler all over the paddocks telling us that they have started their new season's growth. This is a truly remarkable process and of course they are the only mammalian animal in the world to be able to do this! We have had so much rain on the farms that the boys are well fed with all the grass growth, looking great and ready for a fantastic velvet season ahead. Hello and Welcome to the Mountain Red Website September 2010

Wow we are in the 9th month already. Just where this year has gone is any ones guess! Here at Mountain Red we have been very busy getting ready for the start of our Velvet season. We have been out checking that our beautiful boys are in prime condition for the season ahead. This usually involves adding an extra apple or two to your pockets as they love a fresh apple!

The harvest season is also in full swing for our wonder Greenlipped Mussel Extract. This is being harvested as we speak from the pristine waters of the Marlborough Sounds right here in the South Island of New Zealand.
